Terms
What this site is, what our numbers are worth, and where they stop being reliable. Written to be read rather than to be survived.
The short version
- We are a comparison tool, not a seller. We are not a retail electricity provider, an internet or television company, an alarm company, a broker, or anyone’s agent.
- You never sign up here. Every enrolment happens on the provider’s own site, under their contract, with their terms.
- Our figures are estimates, not quotes. They are computed from published rates captured on a stated date, and nobody is bound by them.
- Internet and television availability is metro-level. We can tell you a provider operates in your metro; we cannot tell you it reaches your building.
- Some plans we cannot price, so we exclude them, and we show you how many, and why, on the results page rather than implying our list is the whole market.
- Rankings are by cost, never by what a provider pays us.
This summary is here so the important parts are not buried. The full text below is what actually governs.
1. This agreement
These terms govern your use of the InterLinx Power website. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site: there is nothing else to cancel, because there is no account.
“We” and “us” mean InterLinx Power. “You” means the person using the site. Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms.
2. What we are, and what we are not
InterLinx Power is an information and comparison service. We gather published plan and rate information for Texas home services, price it against what you tell us about your household, and rank the results by cost.
We are not, and do not act as:
- a retail electric provider, an aggregator, or a power marketer, and we hold no certificate from the Public Utility Commission of Texas to act as one;
- an internet service provider, a cable or satellite television operator, or a reseller of either;
- an alarm company, monitoring centre, or installer;
- a broker, agent, or representative of any provider, and we cannot negotiate, promise, or bind anyone to anything;
- a provider of legal, financial, or professional advice.
We sell you nothing and take no payment from you. We do not accept applications, process enrolments, handle deposits, open or close accounts, schedule installations, or resolve billing disputes. If something goes wrong with a service you bought, your counterparty is the provider, not us.
3. Enrolment happens on the provider's site
When you decide to buy something, you leave this site and complete it with the provider. What you agree to there (the contract, the Electricity Facts Label or service agreement, the term, the early termination fee, the deposit, the privacy policy) is between you and them. We are not a party to it and have no ability to change, enforce, or waive any of it.
Read the provider’s own documents before you sign. For Texas electricity in particular, the Electricity Facts Label is the authoritative statement of what a plan costs, and it governs over anything you read on this site. We link to it from every electricity result for exactly that reason.
As of 9 September 2026 the enrolment buttons on our results are disabled and no outbound link on this site leads to a paid sign-up flow.
4. Where our numbers come from, and their limits
We try harder than most to be accurate, and we would rather tell you precisely where the accuracy runs out than issue a blanket disclaimer. All of the following is true at once.
Electricity
Every plan we price was swept from the Public Utility Commission’s own Power to Choose data on 5 September 2026, and each plan’s rate structure was read from that plan’s Electricity Facts Label. A plan is only included if our computed rate structure reproduces the Commission’s three published average prices (at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh) to within 0.05 ¢/kWh. Anything that fails that check is left out rather than shipped as an approximation.
Retail rates change constantly. Providers add, withdraw and reprice plans without notice, and a plan that was available on the capture date may be gone or repriced by the time you read this. Always confirm the current price on the provider’s own Facts Label before you enrol.
Delivery charges change on a regulated cycle
Part of every Texas electricity bill is the transmission and distribution utility’s delivery charge. It is regulated, identical across every retailer on the same wires, and passed through without markup, so it never changes which plan is cheapest, but it does change what you actually pay.
These rates are reset on regulated adjustment cycles, which in Texas typically take effect in March and September. Our figures were refreshed on 5 September 2026 and reflect that September’s adjustment, which moved two utilities materially: CenterPoint by about +1.43 ¢/kWh and TNMP by about +0.94 ¢/kWh. After the next adjustment, and before we refresh, our totals will drift by the size of that change.
Some plans cannot be priced, and are excluded
Our catalogue is a subset of the market, and the results page says so on screen with real counts rather than implying the subset is everything. Plans are left out when:
- they are time-of-use: free-nights or free-weekends plans charge different rates by hour or day, so no single per-kWh rate describes them and a blended figure would be confident and wrong;
- they are prepaid;
- their Facts Label could not be retrieved or machine-read;
- their structure could not be reconciled against the Commission’s published prices;
- no average price is published for them.
An exclusion is not a judgement about a plan. A plan we cannot price could easily be the cheapest one for you, which is why every electricity result links to Power to Choose so you can check the Commission’s own list.
Internet and television coverage is metro-level
This is the weakest claim on the site and we would rather you heard it from us. We can tell you that a provider publicly operates in your metro (we cover Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio), and we cannot tell you that it serves your address. Every provider’s own availability checker requires a full street address, and several refuse to answer for a ZIP code at all, so no address-level verification is possible from what they publish.
Availability varies street by street and building by building. Apartments are decided by how the building was wired and what the landlord agreed to. Satellite needs a clear view of the southern sky and, in a rental, the building’s written permission. Internet prices were captured on 30 August 2026 and television packages on 31 August 2026. Confirm availability and price with the provider before you rely on either.
Home security
Security systems ship nationwide, so there is no coverage question. We rank them by normalised first-year total cost (equipment, installation and twelve months of monitoring together), because a monthly fee on its own hides which systems you are also buying hardware from. Pricing was captured on 31 August 2026. Professional installation, permits, taxes and add-on devices are excluded from that figure.
5. Estimates are not quotes
Every figure on this site is an estimate. It is not a quote, an offer, a guarantee, or a promise of a price, and nobody (us or any provider) is bound by it.
What you actually pay will differ, and legitimately so. It depends on how much electricity you really use each month rather than the estimate you entered, on taxes and municipal fees we exclude, on deposits, connection and disconnection charges, late fees, equipment rental, promotional periods ending, and on the specific terms of the contract you sign. Our electricity estimates exclude taxes and city fees; our internet and television figures exclude taxes and, where noted, equipment.
Usage-sensitive plans deserve particular care. A plan with a bill credit at 1,000 kWh can be the cheapest option in one month and among the most expensive in the next if your usage falls just short of the threshold. We flag that on the card where we can detect it, but your real usage varies and ours is only an assumption.
6. How results are ordered, and affiliate compensation
Results are ordered by cost: electricity by estimated monthly cost at the usage you entered, internet and television by current advertised monthly price with equipment and required fees included, security by normalised first-year total. Where the site offers a sort control, the ordering changes but the ranking does not: the number on each card is always its position on price.
No provider is boosted, floored, pinned, or favourably tie-broken because of a commercial relationship. The ranking functions receive plan data and your inputs, and nothing else. Ties are broken alphabetically, which is arbitrary, stable, and not for sale.
We intend to earn affiliate commission: when a visitor enrols with a provider after following a link from this site, that provider pays us a fee. It never changes the price you pay, and you can always go to a provider directly instead. As of 9 September 2026 no affiliate link on this site is live and we earn nothing from any outbound click. If that changes, paid links will be marked as such and this section will say so.
7. Acceptable use
Use the site for your own household’s shopping. Please do not:
- scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site or its data by automated means, or attempt to reconstruct our plan database;
- republish our compiled data or comparisons commercially, or pass them off as your own;
- interfere with the site’s operation: probing, load testing, denial of service, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to anything;
- use the site to break the law, or to mislead anyone about what a plan costs;
- remove, obscure, or alter any notice on the site, including affiliate disclosures and the accuracy caveats above.
Reading the site, checking our arithmetic against a Facts Label, and telling other people what you found are all entirely welcome.
8. Intellectual property
The site’s design, text, layout, code, and the particular way we compile and present plan comparisons belong to us and are protected by copyright. The InterLinx Power name and logo are ours.
Underlying facts are not. Rates, plan terms, and utility charges are published by providers and by the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and we claim no ownership over them. Provider names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear here for identification only; their use does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation between that provider and us.
You may quote or link to this site with attribution. You may not reproduce it wholesale.
9. Third-party sites
We link to provider websites, Electricity Facts Labels, availability checkers, and the Commission’s Power to Choose. We do not control any of them, we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you follow one, that site’s terms and privacy policy apply instead of ours.
10. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the information here is complete, current, or error-free, that the site will be uninterrupted, or that any particular plan will be available to you at the price shown. Everything in section 4 is a specific, deliberate limit on what we are claiming, and this section should be read alongside it rather than as a substitute for it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of this site or your reliance on anything you read here, including a difference between an estimate shown here and a bill you later receive.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Your relationship with a provider is separate. We are not liable for a provider’s acts, omissions, pricing, billing, service quality, contract terms, or handling of your personal information.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the last updated date at the top of this page changes, and the updated terms apply to use of the site from that point. For a material change (anything affecting your rights, our liability, or the accuracy commitments in section 4), we will say what changed rather than only posting a new version.
The capture dates in section 4 are refreshed whenever the underlying data is, so a change to those is a routine update rather than a change to your rights.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms, or about how a number on this site was calculated, go to legal@interlinxpower.com. If you think a figure here is wrong, please tell us. Every plan links to its own source document, and we would rather be corrected than confident.
